Welcome,
Although the Newick Branch of the Royal British Legion is understandably small, our branch continues to offer social events, talks and other activities for ALL those interested in the welfare of our Armed Forces, past and present.
In 2013 there will be a number of events including a possible trip to the new Bomber Command Memorial in London, and the branch will continue to organise the local Poppy Appeal, and to be central to the annual Remembrance Day ceremony on The Green, and the Remembrance Sunday service at the Parish Church..
The branch is keen to welcome new members (who DO NOT have to have served in the armed forces contrary to popular belief!!). We hold meetings on the first Wednesday of every month (not January or August) in the Community Centre starting at 8pm, Tea/coffee and biscuits are served after the meeting.
The village web-site also includes a 'Virtual War Memorial' giving short biographical details of the men with a connection to Newick who died as a result of service in World War 1 and World War 2.
