Planning issues are generally considered twice each month. A Planning Committee meeting is held around the middle of the month and Planning issues are part of the agenda of the Parish Council Meetings at the end of each month.
Lewes District Council now provide a website for the Public to access planning applications and their progress.
The following is an explaination.
Planning Public Access website
Lewes District Council went live with a Planning Public Access website on Wednesday 2 July.
The Lewes District Council Planning Public Access website allows Newick Parishioners to:
• Search and view details on current planning applications
• Submit comments about current planning applications
• View the following documentation of current* planning applications:
Application forms, Decision notices, Plans
• Follow the progress of a current application
• View information on past planning applications
• View maps on current applications
• Search for Appeals and Enforcement information
• Use property search to find details of related cases in
Planning and view maps
*Applications forms and plans only viewable on applications received after 9th June 2008.
This new site is available from the Lewes District Council Planning homepage at: www.lewes.qov.uk/environment/611.asp .
There is a welcome page giving details of the information and documents available to view and any scheduled ‘downtime’ of the
system. The page then links to a ‘disclaimer’ page which covers all the legal implications of the information/documents which will be displayed on the Public Access website: e.g. Copyright and Plans.
