Vale of Sussex
The Vale of Sussex is a name that for decades has been given to the rolling lands that lie between the South Downs and the High Weald. They contain many areas of outstanding natural beauty and many features of historic and scientific interest. Indeed, much of the unique beauty of the South Downs themselves derives from the unspoilt views north across the Vale with its fields, woods, meadows and streams. The essential character of both the Downs and the Vale must be preserved and protected.
